Waste Batteries are Turned into Books Project

|

Waste Batteries Turn into Books at CarrefourSA
At CarrefourSA, we collect expired batteries from homes and offices at the waste battery collection units located in all our stores. Batteries contain heavy metals such as mercury and lead. Disposing of waste batteries in the trash causes environmental pollution and poses a risk to human health. Therefore, used batteries need to be collected, transported, and recycled separately to prevent them from becoming hazardous.
As CarrefourSA, through our project aimed at protecting the environment, we prevent waste batteries from polluting the environment and donate books to children in need in exchange for the batteries we collect.

A Future that Reads with AÇEV
In collaboration with the Mother Child Education Foundation (AÇEV), we donate book sets to children in need across the country in exchange for the batteries we collect. By doing so, we help more children access books and provide equal opportunities for the development of children at risk.

For the sake of our children's future, bring your batteries, and let them turn into books!
