SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECTS

In accordance with our slogan 'The Right Ones Are at CarrefourSA,' we undertake long-term, socially beneficial projects.

URBAN AGRICULTURE PROJECT WE FARM IN THE CITY; CONSUME FRESH AND SAFE

CarrefourSA launched the Urban Agriculture project with the slogan ‘We Farm in the City; We Consume Fresh and Safe’ to support farmers engaged in agricultural activities in villages near İstanbul. This project aims to achieve sustainable production of farming areas close to the city. Within the scope of Urban Agriculture, farmers' production processes are monitored, planned, and continuous, with harvesting occurring regularly. The project saves energy, time, and costs in logistics, storage time, cooling, processing, and packaging. By controlling all processes, economic losses are limited, and our carbon footprint is reduced. The Urban Agriculture project also plays a significant role in promoting economic development and employment in rural areas closely situated near the city.

UNICEF

On November 20, World Children’s Day, dedicated play areas for children were set up in selected CarrefourSA stores. Through the UNICEF “Face to Face” teams, children had the opportunity to come together and learn about their rights. In addition, support was provided to UNICEF together with customers through the UNICEF donation boxes located at CarrefourSA checkout counters.

BASIC NEEDS FOUNDATION (TIDER)

CarrefourSA has been collaborating for 12 years with TBasic Needs Foundation (TIDER), a non-profit civil society organization that works to ensure fair and equal access to basic necessities. Within the scope of this partnership, CarrefourSA continued to supply products in 2025 to the ‘Destek (Support) Market’ established in cooperation with TIDER, helping essential goods reach people in need.

"FRIEND MOVEMENT" PROJECT TO BENEFIT STREET ANIMALS

Since 2015, CarrefourSA has been carrying out the "Friend Movement" project in collaboration with HayKonfed, continuing to deliver surplus edible food across Türkiye to stray animals through HayKonfed volunteers. Through this initiative, food waste is reduced while making a meaningful contribution to the nutrition of stray animals.

As of 2025, a total of 75 tons of pet food has been donated within the scope of the project, and more than 50 feeding activities have been organized together with volunteers. Over 2,000 volunteers have participated in these activities, supporting stray animals across the country.

“LET THE CHILDREN DESIGN” PROJECT

CarrefourSA, in partnership with the Darüşşafaka Society, continues to sell bags designed by students attending Darüşşafaka Schools in selected CarrefourSA stores nationwide. All proceeds from these sales are donated to Darüşşafaka. CarrefourSA believes that a prosperous society is possible with educated individuals and takes responsibility for contributing to the development of future generations.

WASTE BATTERIES ARE TURNED INTO BOOKS AT CARREFOURSA

CarrefourSA operates under the principle 'The Right Ones Are at CarrefourSA' and actively upholds its responsibility to customers, employees, and realizing global sustainability. In this context, a project was initiated to collect used batteries in stores to protect natural resources. These collected batteries are directed to the TAP Association to prevent environmental pollution, and the income generated is used to support AÇEV's 'A Future That Reads' project, providing books to children in need.

RECYCLED BAGS

With the ban on plastic bags in our country, CarrefourSA supports Darüşşafaka, TIDER, and HayKonfed through the income generated from the sale of recyclable cloth bags offered to customers in its stores.

TOHUM AUTISM FOUNDATION

CarrefourSA has launched a voluntary initiative in its stores to collect and recycle used vegetable oils from customers, aiming to protect water resources and raise environmental awareness. Within this scope, the revenue generated from recycling approximately 10.5 tons of used oil collected in 2025 was donated to Tohum Autism Foundation to support efforts to increase awareness of autism.

HEYBELI'S SADDLEBAGS

As part of a project aimed at supporting women producers, saddşebags woven by women living in Heybeliada have been made available for sale in CarrefourSA stores. This initiative has enabled the women of Heybeliada to participate in the economy.
